Episode 5: Wait, What?

Wait, What? will be an ongoing string of episodes that discuss news headlines and trending topics on social media. Before discussing topics, Lindsay and guest co-host, Ashley briefly discuss their friendship and the title for their original podcast if Ashley had not left Lindsay hanging (01:30). The two also discuss Juneteenth and their experiences of attending the NYC Pride parade (02:22). Staring off with the mindless comments by Senate Majority leader, Mitch McConnell. The girls discuss whether Black Americans should receive reparations for slavery (10:50). Next, jumping into victim shaming, they discuss recent comments made by actress/comedienne/tv personality Whoopi Goldberg in regards to actress Bella Thorne’s recent photo hack (19:12). Before intermission, the two discuss another accusation of sexual assault from our current “President” by advice columnist E.Jean Carroll in her new book (25:30). Could you handle a Threesome? Lindsay and Ashley discuss recent comments made from actress Jada Pinkett-Smith and interesting facts about threesomes (31:18). Before the episode ends, the two discuss whether Lavar Ball’s comments to Molly Qerim were inappropriate (39:16) and whether it is okay to date your ex’s friend and bandmate, as seen with members of B2K and their baby mommas (43:20).

Episode 4: When They See Us

“When They See Us”, the latest Netflix series that has been the most watched series every day for two weeks is explosive and eye-opening. In this episode, we review the case (1:35) and racial violence occurring in NYC during the late 1980s (4:13). Lindsay discusses the various reasons why she originally opted out on watching the series but how she overcame her anxiety and tuned in (5:20). Including her personal experiences, Lindsay also provides an episode-by-episode description of series (6:23). After the break, we learn of the major changes powered by social media; occurring to the people behind the wrongful convictions of the Central Park 5 (17:40). Lastly, we end the episode, reviewing information on how to handle being stopped by police and/or taken into custody (19:55).

Episode 3: My Webcam Broke: Confessions of A Former Catfish

In this episode, Lindsay dives into her catfishing past and her love of the television show (2:43). With a mini Catfishing 101 refresher course (4:03), highlighting the difference between catfishing and trolling (6:08) and the buffet style approach to being another person online (9:26), we learn that catfishing can be used for the very bad but also good (12:18) . Flashback to 2001, Lindsay reveals how insecurity and rejection led her to an exploration of catfishing in chatrooms (18:53) and even meeting one of her victims in person (28:21). With social media platforms like Facebook and Myspace helping her get over her addiction (38:44), Lindsay finally pieces it all together (years later) in a 2014 therapy session (42:13).
